Tickets now
available for World Open Squash 2011
Tournament promoter Tommy Berden has launched
the start of the ticket sales for the World Open
Squash 2011, exactly eighteen months before the
biggest ever squash championship commences in
the Dutch city of Rotterdam. From today (April
28th) it is possible to order tickets for the
most important championship in 2011 on the
Professional Squash Association (PSA) and
Womens International Squash Players
Association (WISPA) World Tours.
"The
response from squash enthusiasts all over the
world was overwhelming after we announced that
the World Open will take place next year in the
spectacular Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam," said
Berden. "On the first day we received so many
requests for tickets, that we decided to start
the ticket sales much earlier than normal. There
is still a year and a half to go before the
first ball is struck, but this clearly doesnt
stop the real squash fans in their desire to
reserve their seats now," concluded the
31-year-old former Dutch champion.
At the beginning of February, tournament
organizer NextSquash and tournament partners
Squash Bond Nederland and Rotterdam Topsport
announced at a press conference that the
renowned Luxor Theatre was to play host to the
World Open Squash 2011 for the last four days of
the championship, which is being played from
October 28 to November 6. The early stages of
the championship will be played at Victoria
Squash, one of the most successful squash clubs
in the Netherlands. The official individual
world championship for men and women will
feature a total prize fund in excess of
US$400,000 - a record in squash.
Tickets for the World Open Squash 2011 are now
for sale, prices for the matches at the Luxor
Theatre vary between 10 and 30 Euros apiece,
while admission to the early rounds at Victoria
Squash is free.
